Does your auto rack have open end
doors?
IMPORTANT: Re
- open end doors ... what should I get?
Cars with "open" doors
are delivered with the doors "closed".
There is no difference in appearance
between the 2 versions. However, the "open" end
doors are easily "opened" so the car can be displayed
as shown above.
In real life, of course the doors on all
of these cars open...and close. When loading/unloading,
autos are driven (via loading ramps) into the auto
carriers.
When the trains are on the rails, of course the end
doors are all closed. You will probably want a majority
of "closed end" cars. However, it would be nice to
have some "open enders" to "pose" in the yard. A
nice touch would be the addition some N scale autos
inside the "open enders" -- you'll only need
a few vehicles
for an effect as most of the cars will be closed
anyway.
*A limited number of cars will be available with
matching road numbers (all 12 will be available)
for the 'A' end open doors so that you can have open
doors on one end of your car if you want. The car
does come with both closed doors installed, easy
to change.
Can you see through the side of your auto-rack like
on the prototype? You will with this one. Does your
auto rack have corrugated sides as found on the prototype?
